DCMS Becomes first World Citizen Peace Site in The Bahamas
World Citizen, a non-profit organization launched in 1982, maintains its mission to “support peace education and the concept of world citizenship,” focusing its activities and efforts specifically on children and youth. On Wednesday, February 21, Deep Creek Middle School had the honor of officially becoming a World Citizen Peace Site, committing itself to the Five Peace Actions:
- SEEK peace within yourself and others
- REACH OUT in service
- PROTECT the environment
- RESPECT diversity
- BE a responsible citizen of the world
