Admission Overview

The Island School believes that young people, given the right tools, can do just about anything– students are the force for positive change in the world!

Now that you are ready to begin your own Island School adventure, the first step is to start an application by submitting a preliminary form (linked below). Our application is student-led, and students can only pursue one program application per admissions cycle for the Semester OR Summer Term (and share preferences within the application). Through the process of applying, we hope that you might already begin to imagine a new way of learning and even discover something wonderful about yourself.

We hope this page can be your resource guide, inclusive of program dates, admissions deadlines, and information to make you feel prepared to submit your application. The Admissions Team will be your first point of contact. Please reach out to us with your questions!

Applications for our Semester and Summer Term are now closed. Applications for Fall 2027 and Spring 2028 and Summer Term 2028 will open September 15, 2026.

Credit Transfer

Semester and Summer Term students receive a detailed transcript from their program, and our credits are transferrable to both independent and public schools. We encourage you to use the Summer Term Curriculum Guide and/or Semester Curriculum Guide as a resource.
